Contact Time @ Steigemühle #8
07.05. - 10.05.2020
Contact Time is a dance dedicated festival.
Cozy, focused, relaxed, exciting.
With about 25-30 people we want to enjoy Contact Improvisation with various workshop and jams.
Time for movement research, witnessing and listening, activity and recharging.
We will do this in a nice 100 m² studio and in the nature. Next to the studio there is a little lake, meadow and woods. It's in the countryside, south of Berlin, north of Leipzig and Dresden.
In the Steigemühle.
These were our sessions in Contact Time #7, new descriptions will come soonish...
Angela-Mara Florant - Conversations with the floor
In Contact Improvisation we spend a lot of time close to the floor. What possibilities open up when we carefully listen to what the floor has to say to us? If we get really gentle and cozy with the floor it will open up to us its warm, soft and supporting self. Can we experience the floor as a partner moving us? When we get in touch with a human partner, how can we retain our awareness of the floor? We will enter into an intuitive state of mind, sensing our bodies and the space around us.
Jennie Zimmermann - Dancing Landscape
A workshop in nature.
The fusion of dance and landscape offers the opportunity to explore natural materials, touch, collect and shape them. Through composition and improvisation we can relate to the natural and cultural space surrounding the Steigemühle. Trees, earth, moss and open fields can be dance locations or dance partners.
We take Contact Improvisation outside and dance in the countryside.
Jo Bruhn - Composition in Space
When I dance with others and the room, what changes my dance?
How do factors like space, time, timing, speed influence the dance, the composition?
What effects do actions and reactions, impulses and physical listening have?
Many questions and no need to find answers...but an invitation to experiment, to play, to use scores to create composition. Let's direct our attention towards our dance and space. In movement and in stillness.
